My son who is 7 has hydrocephalus, with a programmable vp shunt, chiari malformation, scoliosis, Cystic Fibrosis, and recently has had surgeries for the chiari and tethered chord. Since August he has had 2 revisions and has basically had headaches for more than two years, but has a high tolerance to pain so we really can't tell when it is a cf problem, hydrocephalus problem or what. the chiari surgery was 2 months ago, what i was wondering is if anyone knows about recovery times, and also, he has had a visit with the neurosurgeon it was 2 weeks ago, which she said he is doing very well. he is and has been having headaches every since about a month ago, and he is very tired and complains of leg weakness, which he complained of alot before surgery too, i just don't know if his headaches are due to sinus or heat issues(it is very hot here) from the cf or if these are things that need to be addressed with the other problems he faces. anyone have any imput or suggestions?????
