I feel like I am forever posting on here with something new but I guess that is the ups and downs of peri menopause.
I have started to get occasional muscle cramps in my legs and I have read they can be associated with lower oestrogen. Does anyone else experience this? I only started to get them recently and normally just after my period when I am feeling at my worst.
thanks
Linda
I am getting close to experiencing all the 35 signs of peri - but thank goodness not all at the same time!!

Hi Linda,
Don't feel bad about posting with new conditions, I swear I've had them all too! I get cramps in my feet alot. Mainly my toes. I have to walk the cramp out. It will start for no reason. I thought for months maybe it was the shoes I was wearing, but then I saw other posts about cramps and figured it was probably another peri thing. Can you believe how many body functions our hormones control? Take care, Ann

Oh, yes I've been dealing with body aches, joint aches, and muscles aches for almost a year. Right now I'm experiencing body aches that feel like when I have the flu. It's not a constant aching, but just enough to keep me wondering what's going on with my hormones. Sometimes I feel old when I'm getting up from a sitting position, but then again I'll have period of times where I don't have these aches. In my case I think the 50+ pounds that I've put on are a contributing factor that's why I'm working at shedding these pounds asap :).

I was also experiencing the muscle cramps and asked the doc what I could do for them. He said that I was probably dehydrated and needed some extra potassium. So I bought some Gateraid and started taking a calcium/magnisium supplement and have now pretty much rid myself of them. I have to watch how much potassium I take because of high blood pressure meds.

I've learned something new today. Another peri symptom is muscle cramps. I thought my leg cramps was due to me working as a waitress on the weekends.
Recently I starting the 2nd job & the leg cramps started. I associated the two as being related.
Perhaps they are, but I also think it's the perimenopause thing. <sigh>
Getting old is hell! ;) ;) ;)

I have had muscle cramps in my calfs and biceps. When I do take a magnesuim pill I do feel better. I've had foot cramps at night since my son was born 8 years ago!!
