The last couple of days I've been having these weird "head pains" that might be migraines since the pain is also in my neck and I feel nauseated. I woke up with this weird headache and then later my period started. I don't have a history of migraines, but after doing some research I've learned that perimenopausal/menopausal women can have increased headaches due to declining estrogen level.
Is anyone else dealing with migraines since going into perimenopause? Do you notice that it's triggered certain times of the month or related to the weather?
Thanks :)

Hi Hopefully...
I used to get dreadful 'migraines'...wouldn't go away until I started to flow, would sometimes happen right before I ovulated, sometimes during the lull I used to have in my regular cycle; flow for a couple days, stop, horrible headache that nothing would touch, start flowing, headache lessened. So yep, I think it is definitely hormore related. My prob now is that I spot for a week or so before and after my cycle, which is still 25-28 days, but much lighter. Aahhhh, the joys of being a girl!! As for the weather setting them off, I have sinus probs too, and I think I've acquired allergies in my 'old' age, so I pretty much have a dull headache until that settles down anyway...but its a different kind, not as severe as my 'hormone' headaches were.
I hope your headache gets better :)

I have started getting some headaches too. I never had problem until all the other peri symptoms surfaced. I am on BCP now, but still having some headaches. Some ladies have said they can feel like "ice pick" sharp pains too. Tylenol is helping for now.
I think I read in another one of your posts hopefully, that you are trying to tackle weight gain problems too. If you have any good ideas please let me know. I am really having problems with extra pounds. I am gaining these days just looking at food. I wonder if certain foods are causing some headache problems too. Take care, Ann
