My husband has type2 diabetes, and has very sensitive legs. He cant let anything happen to the skin on his legs ,because he has had leg ulcers that take a long time to heal. We have a wonderful dog named Abby and have kept her outside. We want to have her in the house all the time with us,but dont know what to do to prevent any problems. She is part Boston Terrier and part something else. What do all of you do when it comes to this issue??????
Thanks

We had cats. They would love to sleep on my legs at night. This hurt extremely much. So on occasion I would send Fluffy into orbit with a quick rising of my legs to remove her. This looked funny and she kept coming back for more. I think she thought of it as an E ticket ride a Disneyland. But even though the cats could scratch, they would not cause me any harm. So we had very good luck with the cats in the house.

Can you train your dog not to jump up on his legs? (or on anyone's legs, for that matter). If not, perhaps he can wear protective clothing in the house...jeans are very good for keeping claw's from scratching the skin. Also, make sure your dog's toenails are professionally trimmed as often as necessary. All of these things should help prevent any problems.
