It could be a fungal infection. Diabetics are prone to them, especially when the glucose levels are poorly controlled. It usually starts where there are folds of skin. The armpits, groin area, between the toes and under fat folds are common places. See the doctor and ask him for a precription cream. There are over the counter remedies available, but they are not as good as the prescription strenth. You must make every effort to get your glucose levels under control. These rashes are just the beginning. Much worse problems will arise from poor control.
Good Luck,
Jody

Hello
Yes it is very common for bs to rise with illness. You need to check for Ketenes in your urine at this time as well. You are a prime subject for DKA. This is life threatening. When you get ill, you need to take more insulin to not only keep your BS under control, but I have fount out over the years that if you keep you BS low, you heal much faster than if you allow your sugars to stay high. Get some Keto Stix from the drug store and check you ketenes. Even if you are for example 85 mg/dsl for a blood sugar reading, and you are spilling Ketenes , you need to take extra insulin. This is the only way to get rid of this life threatening problem. You will always heal faster with good control of your BS.
Let us know what your readings are. Let us know if you have any other questions. We area all here to help. Keep us informed as to how you are doing.

Tea tree oil really helps fungal type rashes. You can add the oil to a good natural salve, or use tea tree salve.

Thanks for your replies, I went back to the Dr. and she gave me a different cream/sauve to apply. The rash is now all but gone and my blood sugars and in much much better control. So I don't know if it was the rash or an adverse effect of hte cream. But things are geting back to normal. Once again Thanks for your input!
