Hi
i have found that if my Bolus rates are not set after my eating I will rise higher in 4 hour too. But I carb cout and bolus for that. I was surprised that you can eat that many carbs. I would be closer to 200 with that much in me. Anyway, I take my food increase and I will go either stay at the high rate or barely drop if I eat Mexican food, or Heavy starch based casseroles with rice. So I avoid foods I used to like and teach myself to hate them. This is hard to do. But I manage to get it done. Again I to will have higher or no change if I eat certain types of foods, as mentioned.

Griz,

I have a similar issue after breakfast, however I never go as high as 160 before lunch. Typical BG before lunch can push 110. I will be lower than that at 1 hour after breakfast. 110 is the recommended maximum one should be at the next pre-meal. If you can't achieve 110 then it is time to consider a different treatment.

Thanks for the input,, I try to stay below 30gram carbs per meal 3x day and keep the walking exercise(up to4-6miles daily) and that seems to work for now, I dont want to go on meds well at least not yet, http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
