Has anyone ever had surgery on this or know someone who has. He got out of surgery a few days ago. He still hasn't woken up. They found he was having small, but consistent seizures and put him on some seizure medication and the seizures have stopped thus far. He has been responding by squeezing hands and they told him they had shaved is face and he brought his hand up and felt his face, so it sounds like he is in there, just not waking up yet. It is just frustrating and discouraging that he hasn't woken up. I don't want him to be like this forever. Will he wake up? I guess i'm just looking for someone that may have more knowledge and maybe give some insight. Thank you.

I'm sorry your stepdad is going through this. I don't know much about brain surgery but will as my boyfriend has an epidermoid tumor on the left side of brain stem which is a very rare type to have in that spot. He will be having surgery soon and we are nervous to the outcome. What I have reas are the complications of the surgery seizures is one. The brain stem is very risky due to the nerves and arteries involved. Did the doctors tell you what to expect afterwards? Somethings are temporary and will go away. I wish you and your stepdad luck and will pray this is only temporary. Let me know how he is doing.
