Mommyof4 10-26-2003, 08:54 PM I dont do carb blockers because it goes back to a conversation on here are few days ago about Chromium. They simply dont work enough to be worth the money IMHO ------------------ Mindy Take your self esteem and own it, lest you spend your entire life searching for it in other people Ron AKA 10-26-2003, 09:33 PM The only "carb blockers" that I know about are prescription drugs; Precose and Glycet. They slow the digestion of carbs and make it easier for Type 2 diabetics to handle the spike in BG after a meal containing carbs. They work, but unfortunately many people can't continue taking them due to GI upset. And, they don't stop the digestion of any calories, just delays the absorption of them. ------------------ Ron Type 2, diagnosed Feb 01, Prandin (GlucoNorm), Diet & Exercise [This message has been edited by Ron AKA (edited 10-26-2003).] [This message has been edited by Ron AKA (edited 10-26-2003).] Silverspur 10-27-2003, 03:16 PM I asked my internist regarding "carb blockers" and he told me they cause more problems than they help and therefore would not prescribe them for me. avia 10-27-2003, 09:28 PM Thanks everyone. That does it for me deciding not to try them. berkiefan 10-28-2003, 05:12 PM I've tried them. The one from Andrew Lesman from HSN.com seem to work the best. |
