I had replied to a posting yesterday concerning body aches and joint pain along with tension in my neck. I wasn't aware you could have these symptoms with allergies. In the past, I have had problems with my sinuses (headaches, pressure, ect). With this year being the worst we have had in 10 years, so I'm told, my symptoms are a lot worse. My ears are full and sometimes hurt and pop, I have a post nasal drip along with sinus pain and pressure. Back to my comments earlier, my body also aches. My head is definetly worse, but the aches come and go, usually during the day. The joint pain is mostly in my arms, shoulder, elbow and hands. I also experience a tingling / itchy feeling. I've read that this is also a symptom of allergies. The feeling is always worse when my head feels worse. I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this before.
Thanks

hi, wow, i can't believe you said this! i've been going nuts trying to get over a cold while dealing with the most severe alleriges i've ever had.... not only do i have the usual very bad pressure (so painful to touch, even to smile), horrible headaches, eye sensitivity, nasal congestion/post drip, sneezing, etc. but my body aches and i have pain in my knee, elbow, wrist joints and also weird pains/sensations in my hands! never had this before....
i'm shocked and slightly relieved someone else has this (sorry, tho) because i've been going a little nutty with worry. i had no idea that this cld be related to my allergies. that's wonderful, because i'm a healthy person and really was scared someone bad was happening to me.
did you doctor tell you this or did you read it or? and now that it's known, what the heck can we do about it?
i certainly feel for you.

Wow, I'm releived someone else is having the same symptoms. I'm a fairly healthy person as well and that's why this had me confused. It all it me towards the end of march and is still going on. Some days are better than others and sometimes I feel pretty good for a few days. I normally feel better at night. Like I said, I didn't realize allergies could get this bad. Boy, whas I wrong! I've seen my Dr. 5 times in the last 7 weeks. When I first saw him back in early April he was surprised to see me considering I had not been there since 2003. I don't normally get sick. I just started taking Zytec last week and it seems to be helping. I was getting those hot sensations and my Dr. said that was the histamine my body was releasing. Basically felt like a hot flash. Most recently, my skin has been itchy at times. More than it has. Damn allergies.....
How long have you been having these symptoms?
Thanks for the reply.

When my allergies are out of control, I always feel body aches/joint pain. At one point it was so bad I consulted a rheumatologist. The neck tension, I believe is referred pain from the sinuses. My neck will be the most tense when I also have sinus headaches.
Getting on the proper Rx meds and getting allergy shots helped me the most.

Thanks for the reply sneezydiva. It comes and goes which drives me crazy. I'll feel pretty good for a few days then I'll feel like crap for a day or so. I thought I might have some type of sinus infection or something. I'm just ready for it to end. Hopefully, it will in a few weeks. I just started taking Zyrtec, which seems to be helping a little. I guess I need to give it more time. I started feeling this way back in early April so it's been like 2 months. Do the meds take awhile to treat the symptoms? I go back to the Dr. next week so I'll see what he has to say.

Hello, I Was Very Interested To Hear The Problems You Are Having,i Could Have Been Writing About My Own Symptoms,as They Are Identical, they Started Last Year Although I Have Had Allergic Sinus Problems For Years I Have Not Experienced The Aches And Pains Particularily In My Knees, arms, wrists And Kneck, this Year They Started Again About 5 Weeks Ago And Although I Am More Prepared They Still Are A Little Frightening,i Find The Stress And Anxiety This Combination Of Symptoms Cause ,more Distressful Than The Asthma I Had As A Kid (i Grew Out Of The Asthma At About 16 When The Sinus Problems Took Over).i Try To Exercise As Much As Possible And Have Started Taking A Natural Supplement Called Relora That I Have Found Reduces The Anxiety. I Also Visit A Chiropractor Who I Call My Miracle Man As He Actually Reduces All The Symptoms In About Fifteen Minutes,(i Can Actually Feel The Difference To My Sinuses When He Has Done A Neck And Shoulders Manipulation).iam Due To Visit My Clinic For A Check Up In A Few Weeks And Will Post Back If I Find Anything Else Useful .
Good Luck And Good Health!

ASTLEY, thanks for the response. It's very strange the symptoms that allergies can cause. This is the first year that I've experienced these crazy symptoms. I go back to the doctor this week. I'll post back as well. I've started to feel better the last few days. I still have a lot of sinus pressure and my ears have a lot of pressure. It's driving me crazy. What allergy medication do you take?

Hi, I Take Neoclarytin But Am Not Very Sure How Effective It Is ,we Are Limited In The Uk As To The Type Of Medication We Can Buy Over The Counter, But One Of The Best Used To Be Dimotapp But Has Been Withdrawn From Sale Here. I Also Use A Saline Nasal Spray And Have An Ioniser In My Bedroom,i Think Everything Combined Makes The Allergy More Tolerable, but Would Like To Live Somewhere Where There Is Very Little Or No Pollen Of Any Kind,(like A Desert Or The North Pole).i Will Post Again Shortly After My Visit To My Doctor.

With all the symptoms everyone is having are you also feeling very tired and weak? I have had this for almost 2 week. It started with a cold, then the cough, now sore throat, stuffy nose and feeling very very tired and weak. Are any of you experience this? How long is this gonna last?

This is the pits, I agree. Just got a RX of Levaquin--I sleep 12-14 hrs on it. VERY dizzy and spacey. Migraine-like pain right between the eyes only and numb upper front teeth--sudden histamine surges. Texas mold. I cancelled my sinus surgery till I get my strength back. Yes it can run you all the way down. Good thing I saw the doc--I thought I had a tumor back there! :dizzy:

Yeah, like I said this is the first year I've experienced all of these symptoms. It really sucks. I just picked up an antibiotic the other night because my Dr. thinks it turned into a sinus infection. My ears and sinuses have been horrible along with the muscle and joint pain which has gotten better. My upper teeth were hurting as well as my upper jaw. Sinusitis can cause all of this. I've been on the antibiotic since last night and I've started to feel a little better. I'm on them for 10 days, we'll see how it goes. I'll write back soon. I made an appt. to see an allergist in late July. I'll hopefully find out what's going on when I meet with him.
My wife thought she had a tumor last year when she had a floater in her eye becuase of allergies that eventually turned into an infection which was cleared up with antibiotics.

Thanks again. I have to get to my doctor for something. Can this sinuses also be causing the sore throats? They are awful. They are not as bad in the am, but starting in the afternoon it starts up.
Hope you get better soon.

I think I'm dealing with mold allergies. Mold is always high here, but it got higher lately. About a week ago I started having a sore throat, I would wake up with goopy eyes and I had some congestion. The congestion hasn't been too bad. These symptoms have been pretty constant all week long. I also feel achy in my arms and legs. Before feeling like this I was exercising a bunch and feeling really good. Today I tried to exercise and just felt really tired and achy. It's like I have the flu, but I have no fever.
My throat hurts, but it's not a true sore throat, if that makes any sense. And my upper teeth ache. But I have no congestion right now. I don't think I have an infection... if I don't have any congestion could I still have an infection?

I need to look up the mold allergy symptoms. I have this sore throat off and on (most on) for the last 3 weeks. My ear hurts with it. Today now I'm getting a headache. This is terrible isn't it. When this all started, I was really congested. Hope you start feeling better

Yeah, allergies just suck. I've been feeling crappy off and on since April. I'm beginning to think I'm allergic to many different things. Mold allergies can be very severe. It doesn't matter if I'm inside or outside, I could feel like crap either place. I made my first appt. with an allergist and it's not until the end of July. I have a follow up appt. with my GP later this week. I'm hoping he might be able to shed some light on the subject.

I went to an allergist a few years ago and it showed nothing, but I still feel awful. Is the sore throat a part of allergies or what?
