12 yrs ago I went to the doctor due to severe depression. I was diagnosed with pcos. He felt the depression was due to the hormone imbalance. Over the next 2 yrs several different treatments were tried but none got hormones back to normal but they did improve (depression improved too). However periods never returned to normal. About 18 months ago I lost a great deal of weight and periods returned to normal and I have not had problems until the last 3 months. Now I am showing all symptoms of the pcos again except for I am still having a period. The depression has also returned. Can anyone give me some advice. I thought that since my periods had started again that the pcos was "cured." Does anyone have any ideas?

Hey etoyg welcome to the boards, I dont post much but have found losts of helpful advice. I am curious what other symptoms of Pcos you have. Acne, thinning hair, dark skin patches, skin tags, and so on. I suffer from depression also, it may be something separate from the PCOS. Mine is. I havent heard depression being one of the symptoms of PCOS. If someone knows better than i please post. have you had an internal ultrasound to dx the syndrome? I am on metformin to help regulate my periods, and regulate my insulin. I hope this helped even a little bit.
