Hey,

I am at my end of road with my health. I cant seem to feel good anytime. My head is so sensitive to the wind and sun and pollen. i can hardly go outside because i know its gonna suck. went outside tonight on my 15 minute break at work at 8pm and as soon as i did my head felt pressure and weird and eyes got burny and nose burny. cant explain a lot of it. it just sucked real bad. I would say pollen or something but today was a low pollen day. it wasnt just tonight,it is all the time. im scared anymore to walk outside. no one believes me. i can tell though that on the days with more pressure outside and wind,my head gets worse when i walk outside. i also have daily sinuses and allergies. i have lots of muscle problems. i got weird feelings in my nervous system. i got blood tests done and they were all good.

so i said all that to say this. im gonna call this acupuncture place in couple days and see if ican get started. i just cant take this anymore..

does anyone have any idea of what the cost of 1 visit is without insurance?

the whole outside thing with my head is really pissin me because it doesnt makse sense and its so weird..i cant even enjoy the nice weather on nights like this when it was 65 degrees at 8:30pm..

kevinnader,

I really hope you find some relief from your symptoms. It sounds terrible.

A telephone call to the office will probably give you the info about what one visit costs. But you should factor in that you will probably need to go to several visits.

I had accupunture done about seven yrs ago and it cost me $75.00 a session back then (30/45 min) and told i needed 8 to 10 sessions so i didn't go back after the first one do to at the time i couldn't afford almost $750.00 out of my own pocket. Maybe a better ideal is to do what a lot of people on these threads have done and thats having a full body cleanse.i.e. Colon, Liver, Kidney etc. They could give you better info on it than i .....

kevinnader,

If 6foot3 paid $75 for the first visit, and was told he needed 8 to 10 more visits (not uncommon) for the process to "work", then he is multiplying $75 by 10 visits and comes up with $750 for the total.

gxpark1234 is also thinking of more than $115, because if he pays $80 for the first visit, and $35 each for the next ten then he is talking about $430 (80 plus 350 = 430).

In other words, the cost of the acupuncture is NOT just the cost of the first visit. The therapist will almost certainly tell you that you'll need a series of visits. If you don't have insurance, you'll have to do some arithmetic to figure out what you'll be paying out over time.

The acupuncturist I see charges $60 for the first visit, and then $50 for each additional visit. I've seen him a total of ten times now. I really, really, really like the guy. He has all the time in the world for me, and I've never felt rushed or pressured to conform to any kind of a time clock. He's a very caring man who really does want to help.

Let us know how it goes!

I live in the Uk and I have just started receiving acupuncture and herbal treatments for various health problems (like you, I feel/felt like I had reached the end of the road).

I cannot recommend to go enough. I have only had one treatment so far (last Friday) and I have been taking herbs ever since and I feel so much different. I am sleeping so well, my memory has improved, my blood pressure has come down and I just generally feel so much happier. My depression seems to be lifting too, its remarkable!!!!

I see a Chinese guy and he is lovely. My Chinese doctor has so much time for me and is so caring and I really get the impression he wants to help and the eye contact is amazing. I wish he could take over the hospitals here!

My only regret is not going sooner. I regret that so much. I have been so messed up by 'Western Drugs'. I am due another treatment in two weeks time and I cannot wait for it to arrive!!!!

Acupuncuture is soooo relaxing and my Chinese doctor stays and chats with me. Great experience.

Let us know how you get on.

My acupuncturist is not Chinese. He studied in Japan and has been practicing for over 25 years. I think the world of this guy. When I first went to him, it was for pain in neck that I can't seem to resolve. While I haven't had much luck in treating my neck pain through acupuncture, he has helped me with my anxiety. On the second visit I told him about being nervous, jumpy and tense much of the time. He told me that he treats people every day for anxiety and that it wasn't just me. Acupuncture has helped a bit with my nervousness. I remember leaving his office on one visit feeling more calm and relaxed than I had in months. It was a great feeling.

He has tried to get me to try some Chinese herbs for my anxiety, but I am way too afraid to try this. Needles are okay but for some reason, I just can't do the herbs.

I wouldn't be afraid to tell the acupuncturist everything that's going on. He might be able to help.
