My 6 year old son has been throwing up for a month. Its very sporatic, like once or twice a week. It can be 2 minutes after he eats or 4 hours. It comes on suddenly with stomach cramps, he throws up and then is fine and ready to eat. The doctor thought it was a stomach flu but it has been going on for too long now. Any ideas?

Are you sure he doesn't have reflux problems. My friend had a brother who is like 14 and he just found out he has reflux. He can't eat certain foods or it will make him sick and he is in the bathroom for a long time. The doctor told them that it's problem that he had when he was a baby just really never knew it until now. His mom thought back to when he was a baby and she said he did spit up alot. At that time they didn't really think anything of babies spittin up.

Hi snowie06,
Your son could have something wrong with his digestive system, that is what it kinda sounds like to me. The best thing to do, is make a list of what he is eating, and then when he throws up. After a little while, you might see a pattern....hopefully. Also, maybe bring him back to the doctor, and mention this. It is not right for children to be throwing up so much, there is something wrong, just need to find out what may be causing it, which may take a while.
Good luck!

Hi,
I had the same thing with my daughter. She was eventually hospitalized and was very ill. After several weeks of tests it was determined that she had celiac disease. I would request a blood test for celiac. Good luck

They think he has acid reflux. It runs in the family on my husbands side. His throat is also red. They thought it could also be stess because he is having a lot of problems in school, he has ADHD and Anxiety Disorder. They are doing a test for reflux in a couple weeks. He hasn't thrown up now since Sunday and it's Thursday! YEAH! It's usually only once or twice a week.
Thanks
