Over the last three years i have devolped a range of persistant, annoying food allergys.
I get reactions such as;
-slight swelling of the mouth
-small, white patches are the back of my throat
- an itchy sensation in my lips and throat
- occasionally my lips feel as if they a "buzzing"
This generally lasts for about 30 mins to an hour.
It happenes specifically when i eat raw fruit and vegetables and soya milk. However large quantity of any food group (lots of dairy, bread etc) in one day will lead to these symptoms.
Also, peanuts and Watermelon cause my lips to swell, go blue and my chest to feel very tight.
I wnet to my GP twice about this problem as it is beggining to really annoy me and disrupt my eating patterns
The GP just told me to go away and get on with it (nearly his excat words) and told me it was caused by my eating disorder and i should talk to my therapist about it
I know that eating disorders can cause a slight hypersensitivity to foods when coming out of a starvation stage but I am not currently "coming out of starvation" and i personally feel as if these issues have very little to do with this.
Any advice?
