I always get tired after I eat meat. I had figured that it was just because my body wasn't used to digesting it since I was a vegetarian for six years, but I’ve been eating meat for a few years now, and I would have thought that I’d be used to it by this point. The sensitivity to protein makes a lot more sense since i also get tired after I eat eggs, but I didn’t realize that someone could be allergic to that food group. Is it possible?

What are you eating with the protein?

when i first noticed, it was with an english muffin, so i entertained the idea of having an allergy to wheat, but i tested it out and even with meat alone i got tired while i didn't with wheat products alone

If part of your question is, can one be allergic to eggs, the answer is yes, eggs are a fairly common food allergen.

Some things to try to parse out: 1) food allergies 2) stomach acid sufficiency 3) digestive enzyme sufficiency 4) glycemic response pattern

Decreased stomach acid and/or digestive enzymes are not uncommon ... despite all the hype about how everybody needs the "big purple pill" for excess stomach acid. Protein is one of the harder to digest foods.

You may find that a naturopathic doc will be more interested in pursuing the source of your post-prandial fatigue than a regular M.D. But to get scratch tests done for IgE food allergies, you'll probably have to visit an allergist.

Good luck. Let us know what you find out!
