my 9.5 month old baby boy has had one pupil that is slightly larger than the other one since he was born. when the lights are really bright you cant tell, when it gets dark it gets worse. his ped office is a really bright white room and when i told him about his eyes he said he looked fine. i didnt even think to look this up on the internet until today and now im a little worried since it hasnt gotten any better, but not any worse either. the info online really isnt too helpful it probably just freaked me out. i know i should just request to see a optimologist right away since im scared but im in the middle of changing insurances. my baby would show other symptoms if this was something bad right?? he was a colicky kid until about 6 monthes but he has acid reflux. thanks so much

It would probably be a good idea to have him checked by an opthalmologist. I'm not sure if there are opthomologists that specialize in infants, and small children, but I suspect there may be. I'm sorry I don't have any personal experience with infants, but if you aren't satisfied with your pediatric physicians response, then seek out help on your own, if you can.
Because an infant can't tell you how he feels, and because you have noticed this and it worries you, then it would be good if you could get him checked out by an opthalmologist. (I was born prematurely, myself, and have eye problems because of it.)
An eye problem may or may not cause other symptoms, so it's good to get it checked.
I know there are quite a few exceptional places in Boston to get him checked, and some may even see infants.
It may be nothing to worry about, but it's worth having it checked, for your own peace of mind. And if there is something wrong, it's always better to find out earlier rather than later.
