HI there Purple2067,

I have read quiet a few threads you have posted out here. You seem to be a good expert when it comes to DRY EYES!!!! I am suffering with dry eyes since almost five years. And I mean REALLY DRY. At the end my eye doc. said that she actually has never seen such dry eyes before. In my case it all happend due to Pollen allergies. I guess I took wrong kind of medication, and that ruined my eyes.
My all four tear ducts are closed, and I use Restasis since a couple of weeks. It does feel a bit better, but only a bit.
What I want to know is, what are you actually doing now? do you use restasis?

Take care, and let me know!!!
thanx

Regards
Shah

I have had dry eyes and allergy problems for years. This year it got even worse. I went to the opthomologist a couple weeks ago and he decided it was time to put me on Restasis. He said that the Restasis wouldn't be very effective until I reduced some of the inflamation that occurs with chronic Dry Eye. He put me on Lotemax 4 times a day for 3 weeks before I can begin the Restasis. I start the Restasis in a week. He also said to continue using the Refresh eye drops as often as I need to use them. I will go for a follow-up in a couple months. I will see then how effective it is and if I need to go back on allergy eye drops.

Which Refresh eye-drop do you use? I have tried Refresh Celluvisc, but find it's really thick and blurs my vision for a time. I use Refresh Endura. It works the best for me, but I can only use it morning and night and need something else for in between. I find it's too hard on my lids (I have blepharitis and MGD) and really irritates if I use it more than twice a day. I like Refresh Ultra, but have been able to get it without preservatives. I would like a gel if I could get one without preservatives.

There are 2 Refresh eye drops that I like to use. The one I have used the longest is Refresh Liquigel. When I use it, things are blurry for a couple blinks, but then vision clears up. I can go longer between uses with this one. Most recently, I have also been using the Refresh Dry Eye Therapy which is supposed to lubricate eyes and replenish all 3 layers of the tear film. It is fairly new, but I can now find it at almost any store that carries eye drops.

My opthomologist said I could use them as often as I needed them. I have used it for years because I found I like how they worked. I was glad to find out it was the brand my doctor recommends.
