I have been using a cool mist humidifier for my sinus problems b/c someone told me it can help. Does anyone know if this is true b/c I don't feel any difference. Can a humidifier actually make your congestion worse because it puts water in the air to create mold, etc.? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It will only help if the humidity in your house is very dry and irritates your sinuses. For most people that is winter time when the furnace is running, or if you live in the desert. Even then, you would probably only need it in the winter when humidity is super low.

Mold can be a problem, but only if you don't clean the unit regularly.

Most of the time my sinuses act up in the winter. I finally asked my allergist about using a humidifier. He said that actually a warm mist humidifier is better than cool mist because bacteria does not build up as fast.
