For the past couple months I have been having a feeling of almost constant fullness in the lower part of my bowels (not in the the abdomen area but more towards the upper rectum). It sort of feelings like a have a build up of gas that i can't release, and when I do end up eating food that makes me pass gas I get some relief, but almost never seem to go back to normal. My stools look completely normal in size and color, and I'm only going a little more than I usually do everyday (probably because I've been nervous about this). This past August 2005 I had a severe case of pnuemonia. Some tests they did were a CT scan and several chest X-rays. I have also had an MRI done of my spinal area because of back trouble which came back negative (not sure if that would have included the colon or not). I've also had a lot of blood work done over the past months since then. I'm not sure what this could be and if any of the tests I have had done could rule out something serious like cancer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are concerned, I would get a GI and get a colonoscopy. That is the only way to know for sure. Have you had any bleeding?

Good luck and go schedule that colonoscopy!

I second what Cat stated, that's really the only way to be sure, the rest, unfortunately is us spectulating what it could be, and with this lovely internet age, we've all become self-diagnosing doctors, as well as diagnosing friends as well :).

Good luck and do let us know how it turns out!
