Does medicaid ever run out on you in a years time....money wise? Like if you over use it cuz your too sick

And if your on SSI, is it true that after 2 years (in the state of michigan) that you go into medicare?

And with the new Medicare part D plans in affect now, that its after the deadline, do i have my OWN deadline when / if i do get medicare?

Whats the difference between the two?

I tried to read the goverment sites but none of it makes any sense to me!!!! Im stressing out. I dont want to pay more for my medication then i currently do because its so cheap now - fiance's on medicare and we pay loads.

I am currently looking for the health plan though.

Thanks alot.

I'm dont deal with Michigan and I generally work with commercial insurance, but here is my contribution. I've never seen a medicaid policy limit, nor do I think such a limit exists in any state. That being said, even if they have a conservative one million dollar lifetime benefit, at the discount medicaid gets (say 8% of charges in some cases), if you've incurred a million dollars in medicaid payments, you have incurred 12 million dollars in charges. If you are alive to tell the tale, you are in my prayers. Medicaid is still covering you if you, don't worry. As my understanding though, the part D benefit has a finite registration date. If you missed the boat, I don't know what to say. I wish I had experience with your state so I could give you more info.
