[FONT=Tahoma]I have suffered from SVT for years, I am 19, 5ft 7ins and I weigh 9st 2lbs. In feb 06 I had a catheter ablation to stop the svt. Since the ablation my SVT has got better but it has not gone completely which is dissapointing. As a result of the procedure I got pericarditis which has improved alot but it is still there slightly.
I had the oppertunity to work in Corfu for 4 months, and I flew out on the 5th may, however due to the heat my SVT got alot worse and I was unable to work or do much except stay in the apartment. So 2 days ago I flew back home :( since then the palpitations have calmed down again.
I'm due to see my cardiologist in October (because I wasn't due back until then) and I also have an echo booked.
So does any one have any suggestions about what might happen next? I really want the SVT to totally dissapear so that I can get back on with my life but I havn't got a clue about what the doctors may do

i think i would try another ablation. if it really is svt then it should be ablatable. i know that i had two areas of my heart causing me to have svt.
sorry im not much help. i know i would have been very disapointed to come out of a svt ablation still having svt.

I've definitely heard of many people have second ablations, so I imagine that'd be an option for you as well. Are you on any meds or anything?

Heat makes my SVT worse, too. I'm glad to hear it happens to someone else and I'm not just imagining it.

oh no...... i was really dreading that a second ablation would be a possiblity. I absolutely hated the first one. I'm not on any meds at the minute except painkillers for the pericarditis. I just got a letter this morning about an appointment fo another MRI too. Thanks for the replies!
