I am waiting for my ALJ Hearing date-- in April, my lawyer said it could be 14 months. If I moved to another state at this stage, would I have to start the whole process all over again?

Personally, I wouldnt move unless my corraborating Dr was moving as well..I feel its dangerous, as a new Dr may not cooperate w/you and SSA..just my thoughts, Lupey

I would ask these questions to your attorney or call SS. I couldn't find out anything on SS website to answer that. I was kindof curious myself. My husband is in the appeal process. I wouldn't want us to move because it's hard to keep a good medical trail. To start all over again with new doctors...not for us. It's bad enough having to wait so long for money. You can deplete your savings, 401's and have to start drawing retirement to soon if you can even do that. Because you can't work at all!!!!
Just my 2 cents.
Just my 2 cents.

I would think it would be better to stay put if possible. If you have to move right now that's one thing, but if you are able to wait I would think it would be better. Now might not be the best time to get more doctors invloved, etc. Hope things work out well for you
