My eyesight is getting REALLY bad and I'm only 15.

The eye person I went to two years ago said my eyes would get worse and worse but how bad can they go from just using the computer?

How often do you use the computer? And what kind of problems are you having with your eyes?

Well, too much puter time isnt good, but I am not so sure tat is what is causing your problem. I got glasses for the first time at the age of 12. I am now 40. For the first 10 years my eyes got progressivly worse. Had to get new strenght every other year or so. Since about 25, my eyes havent changes. Keep in mind dera that I am older than dirt for you, so old that we didnt have puters in the years my eyes were changing. I have been on the puter at LEAST 8 hours a day for work and more at home for about 10 years now....
Ask your Opthomologist about the TEFLON anti glare coating. I just got it this year on my glasses, and WOW WOW WOW. What a difference it makes in how you see everything. NO glare from street lights, puter screen, tv etc..awesome.
Don't fret, but you should try to get them examined each year for a while.

So you're saying it might just be my eyes naturally doing it?

But how bad can short sightedness get?

I don't want to wear glasses in the streets but when I get a car I'll have to. I also don't want contacts.

I guess I could just put my glasses in a bag and when I'm outside just put my glasses on whenever I need them and take them off when I don't.

Well, nobody WANTS to wear glasses or contacts..wouldn't the world be a lovely place without them? Just about everyone on the planet has to wear them sooner or later. Yes, your eye could be naturaly getting more nearsighted. Not a big deal. For heavens sake young man...would you rather be blind than wear glasses?
You can wear them just when you need them of course, but you will be missing out on alot on this planet if you cant see it.
Give the contacts a try... They are very comfy, and heck fire...you can change your eye color to something totally random.... Hang in there. Do the best for yourself and get them checked.
I promise....you could even find some frames that make you liik HOT to the chics!!!

Trentyboi: Computers get a bum rap. They don't cause myopia. When you are in your twenties and your eyes have settled down, you can consider laser surgery to correct the vision. Until then, wear your glasses. And at least try contacts--you might like them.
As to how bad myopia can get--if you're not genetically predisposed to it, odds are it won't get worse than moderate.

Hmmm.. I'm 15 and I have my glasses... I thought that was because I read too much Goosebumps books in Primary school :P.
Just make sure you're at least an arm span away from the computer screen and takes rests and go out in you're backyard after long hours in front of a computer screen. Go get a glass of water... I dunno... That's what my optometrist told me.
Also I personally think you should seldom use your glasses unless you can't see or the image is too blurry :P I think my optometrist told me that if you use glasses when you don't need to then your eyes rely on them more, which is BAD ...
