make the symptoms worse? I have awful anxiety. I went through a separation back in December and was on Xanax for 3 months. I've had my anxiety under control and things have gotten better, so I'm not on Xanax anymore. Last night an issue came up that made my anxiety worse all night and this morning. The pain in my back by my shoulder blade burns worse than normal. I feel like the food is coming back up my throat again even though I'm still taking the Prilosec.

Most certainly anxiety can make things worse. Being upset throws the body into all kinds of responses, pretty much all of which are unhealthy unless you're running from a tiger.

Absolutely.

My anxiety disorder hugely exacerbates my stomach conditions.
