This is the second time this has happened in 2 weeks. I do have an MRI scheduled, but am pretty nervous.

My head will vibrate physically for about 5-10 seconds and then I'm horribly dizzy for the rest of the waking day/night and then wake up in the morning EXHAUSTED! Happened again last night so my dr. ordered an MRI plus to see a N/E/T specialist.

I'm still a little dizzy even. Any ideas on what this could be? I normally post over on the back forum as I do have some neck and lumbar issues as well. Might it be from my neck? My GP said no.

Just wanted to bump this up one time to see if anyone had a comment. Since I posted this I have had an mri of the brain - yes I do have one and all looked normal. With contrast all looked normal as well. THAT'S good and put me at rest for the worst scenarios!!

Had an apt. with an ent on Thursday and the hearing is good and scheduled me for a balance test on the 22.

Friday had another incident. So, that makes 3 in a 3 week period. Wanna find out what the heck this is and what's causing it. What doesn't make me very happy, either is that this ent said that I presented strangely and he's never had anyone with a vibrating head prior to onset of debilitating vertigo.

So, if anyone has any insight, I would sure appreciate it. Beings that my brain mri was normal, though, I'm probably on the wrong board.

I have had this type of thing and I have been dealing with dizziness for 3 years now. Mine feels like my head is shaking back and forth quickly. It only happens once and a while. My dizziness is the worst part. I would go to a neurotologist if I were you. They are neurologist who specialize in the inner ear. Inner ear problems can bring on many strange symptoms. ENT's don't know a lot about the inner ear, and usually aren't much help in this department.

Yes, I agree - definately the dizzy after that's horrible. And, you explained the vibrating thing very well. Does it really move, though? Or just an illusion? Do you know?

I have the exact kind of vibrating; really fast, back and forth. However mine is in only one area of my brain, the right occipital or rear area just above and behind my ear. Mine has an exact origin: whenever I hear a low rumbling noise I have this vibrating. I also get heart palpitations, dizziness, left ear fullness, left ear pain, pulsatile tinnitus in my left ear, cold and profuse sweating, extremity weakness, pallor, extreme nausea and finally watery diarrhea.

I started doing some research into these symptoms found other people with nearly the exact symptoms.

I will be getting a MRI this week and already had a CT of my neck and head which showed nothing wrong. As a matter of fact my Neuro doc said my head looks beautiful and I even got to see the scans in 3-D - very cool. After I get the MRI I'm going to see the scan on my Neuro doc's computer too.

I don't have any of your other symptoms except the vibrating and debilitating vertigo after which is definately constant until I go to bed and then off and on for up to a week.
