I know I'm not mentally ill but I don't know what you would call this. I could be driving, lying in bed, watching TV and all of a sudden a person or issue pops into my head for only a split second. Within a matter of days, whatever this quick flash that goes through my mind - suddenly occurs?????
Example: I was lying in bed last week and two guys I went to high school with popped into my head-Unbelieveably, I saw one of the guys the next day and the other 4 days later. I have not seen these guys in 10 years? This occurs alot to me. Am I nuts? I don't think so.
Any suggestions? This has been happening to me since I was around 9 years old.

In my opinion you are not nuts. It is clearly a coincidence and you are just associating that with mental illness or being crazy which is getting you all excited.

Sounds like you're psychic to me. Certainly nothing to be concerned about.

I often have dreams that will then come true exactly as I dreamed them (or the short sections I can remember anyway) days, weeks, months or even several years later.

My theory is this is what deja vu is. The reason the sensation of familiarity is so strange and vague is because you have actually experienced whatever's happening before, but in a dream you can't properly remember.

I don't think a person has to actually be a "psychic" to experience such a phenomenon, maybe some people are tuned into some things occasionally....but I've had a few things like that happen to me....could be just chance or maybe you are tuned into something there.

I wouldn't say you were crazy, though.

Not crazy... I know a few people that things like this happen to. For example, my best friend told me today that last night she kept having a dream about this girl she knows from work (no one special in her life) that kept walking up to her over and over again and talking about something that she couldn't make out... well, when she (my friend) gets to work today, this same girl (from the dream) walks right up to her and tells her that one of her other friends called and said that she wouldn't be there today because her dad had passed away. She said her mouth about dropped, because it was like de ja vu. I myself have driven past places and got the feeling that it is an important place to me for some reason and then months even years later, something significant will happen there or someone significant in my life will work or live at that place. Don't be afraid of it, just be in tune with it and don't get weird with it either. A lot of people think it's quacky.

Hi dgem you are definitely not nuts. This has happened to me numerous times. It does freak you out a bit at the time, but you are not alone. It happens to alot of people.
