Hello all,
As I mentioned in sarahbear's post on Seroquel, the drug causes weight gain due largely to the fact that your metabolism and bodily functions are slowed to a halt. This is because the medicine is taken orally (all the way), and your entire body is affected as the result.
What I was thinking about to avoid this is letting the pill(s) disolve under your tongue. Has anyone tried this? Some "mind-intended" pills are now being prescribed to dissolve under your tongue, and work with far greater impact (such as Melatonin or 5HTP). And with Seroquel - albeit I am no doctor of how the internal organs work - perhaps it would not only work far better on our minds, but it would also avoid hitting our internal organs... thus resulting in a lesser impact on our metabolism.
I am curious to know peoples thoughts on this. It may apply to many BP/AP meds... not just Seroquel. Tonight I will try dissolving half a pill under my tongue. I'll keep people posted.
