Hello, I am 14 years old and I shower twice a day, and wear deodorant, yet a lot of kids in my school are complaining about it, including my friends. It is affecting my social life extremely badly and has been for years.
As I said before, I do shower and use deodorant. I do not have diabetes, or any deficiencies i think. (Can blood tests see whether you have Zinc, magnesium etc. defeciencies?)
This is and has been a major pain, and at this point I do not know what the heck I should do.
I am an Indian(the ones in Asia) 14 year old if that helps.
Sorry for the repetition of a lot of stuff.

Which deodorant do you use? You should be using a deodorant/antiperspirant, as some only stop wetness but do nothing for odor. You may wish to try Certin Dri, which everyone on this board raves about, even my husband uses it. You use it at night and it basically blocks the pores. You use that one at night and then a regular deodorant during the day.
It could also be your diet. Does your family eat some types of food or seasonings that could possibly be coming through your pores? I know garlic will do that to me if I eat it, or really to anyone for that matter, so I'm wondering if maybe it could be something in your diet that's either causing it or contributing to it? If you think this could be it, maybe do a search online for the foods or seasonings you question and find out if they could cause this in a person.
Let us know what you find, ok? And we'll try to figure it out with you.

Here's worst case scenario and probably not what is wrong. A very rare liver enzyme deficiency disease called TMA (Trimethylamineuria). It affects 1% of the population and causes an inability to process a gas type substance called trimethylamine which is in certain proteins like chicken, peas, some kinds of fish, etc. and choline containing foods. Strong body odour results. Also called "Fish Odour Syndrome."
The Montreal Children's Hospital can test urine for the disease. So can a doc named Dr Preti in Maryland. Research is also being done in England.
You probably don't have this awful disease. An internal herbal colon cleanse kit might help you if it is old impacted fecal matter. Won't harm you and might help.
Have a look at the long thread in Healthy Lifestyle called "Seemingly perpetual body odour" for other possible causes and solutions.

Hi all, thanks for all of the replies. gort, i am pretty sure i don't have that disease, because i definately didnt smell like fish. I don't think its the diet problem either, unless chinese food, or indian food is supposed to do this (my friend has a similar diet and he never gets any complaints), and i only eat that kinda food half the time, the rest of the time its pizza without garlic usually, or something else.
however, i do think i may see a problem. As i said before i shower 2 times a day, and it could be that i do not wash my bath towel enough. It is the only thing i know of that smells kinda bad in my house.(i can never smell myself)
Also, i use Gillette clearstick cool mist deodorant. It does not say anti perpirant on it, so im thinking its just normal deodorant. Thanks again for all of the help.

you say that you think its because you dont wash your bath towel enough?? what do you mean?? you really need to use a clean towel each time you shower. and i would also invest in anti-perspirant deoderant.....and another idea....after your shower and you dry off completely, use something like shower to shower body powder. see if all of this combined will make a difference.
oh yeah...and if your mom says something about the excessive towel usage....you really need to tell her what you are experiencing, so that she will better understand, and not be so upset over more towels being used! lol.
