Hi,

I am Hope and I have a problem. I have been over weight for a few years now and I need help with this rash I keep getting. It is almost like a diaper rash. I have it under my belly and in the area where the legs meets the..well you know. It tends to itch, then turns into a dreadful painful raw area. I use baby powder and even diaper rash cream but that doesnt always help.

Any suggestions

It could be a yeast infection. I have had one under my breast and armpit. It was very painful! You might try some over the counter yeast infection meds. Good luck!

Yep, I agree with Crisma-yeast infection. The stuff grows is dark, moist places and skin folds are ideal breeding grounds. Just get some over the counter external yeast infection medicine, should clear it right up. To keep this problem at bay, you may want to try and place a thin cloth between the skin folds to absorb moisture and avoid skin on skin contact.

I used to work in a nuring home and alot of the people were over weight there. When the skin overlaps or rubs up against other skin you get a rash that is hard to cure because no matter what you do (besides weight loss) the skin will still be rubbing. What we used to do is put some kind of grease (kind of messy) the best kind is something like A&D ointment the kind you use on your baby's diaper rash. The rash will clear up because then your skins not rubbing it is kind of gliding across the grease. Leave the powder alone. It only soaks up sweat and when putting it between your thighs it can cause a yeast infection.
