So for the past 2 1/2 weeks, I have had mild chest pressure. The first week or so it seemed as if it was coming from my heart, but since then it's more in the middle of my chest. It isn't painful, but it is discomforting. I completely forget about it at times and don't notice it, but it's continually there. The only time it goes away is when I exercise. It all started when I had heavy chest pressure during the middle of the week. That was the worst it got, and it seems to have gotten less and less as times goes on, but it hasn't gone away. Recently, I have also been burping quite often. Can it be my sternum? My esophagus? I'm not even 20 years old and it I don't think symptoms such as these happen very often to someone as young as I am. Any help would be appreciated.

If the discomfort goes away exercise that would almost always rule out a heart condition due to ischemia (lack of sufficient blood supply to heart muscle). Ischemia is the common condition that causes pain (angina). When one exercises that places a heavier demand for oxygen and often causes the pain. To place a heavier demand for oxygen and the pain goes away is not consistent with a heart problem due to ischemia.

It is more likely a digestive disorder.
