Hi

I was doing some DIY and got a piece of tile in my eye. It was on the white part of the eye and it came out OK but felt gritty. It did not settlt after a day or two and on the 3rd day my eye felt swollen and sore but was not red or appear swollen. I went to the docs and he checked the eye with a light and said there was nothing in it and thought it was scratched and gave me some drops for infection. This started a week ago and although the eye feels less gritty it still feels swollen and sore although it looks fine. I have no vision issues with the eye and i'm wondering what people think and how long this will take to settle or what i should try next?

I don't think people should ever go to a GP for eye related troubles. I think they're great for most other things, but there are lots of optometrists and ophthalmologists who specialize in the eye who are much better at diagnosing and treating eye problems. So if I were you, i'd go to one of them instead. Just my opinion...

Well i went to the local Eye Hospital A+E dept to have it checked out - 2 nurses and 1 eye doctor did lots of staining and looking for a long time and eye tests and came up with nothing. They are 100% certain there is nothing in my eye and they said there are a few small scratches on the cornea that are allmost healed which does not really explain the pain in the eye.

BUT i have more recently noticed that my cheek feels a bit sore inside and my nostril on the same side feels a bit tingly. Is it possible i have some form of sinus infection and this is putting pressure on the eye?? I have prefect vision out of the eye but it feels irritated, the sinus does not seem blocked but is it possible that the sinus is blocked and yet the nose is clear?
