Does anyone suffer from chronic hoarseness with their GERD or LPR? I have constant mucous feeling in my throat and am constantly clearing it. My voice comes and goes but is very raspy most of the time. This has been going on for a couple of weeks. Please describe your symptoms if you can relate. Thanks!

Yes,

Chronic hoarseness can be a symptom of LPR. Constant throat clearing is another major indicator of LPR.

Another 2 big symtpoms of LPR is chronic cough and feeling of "lump" in the throat/difficulty swallowing. However, most LPR patients have 1 or 2 of these 4 symptoms. It seems pretty rare to get all 4.

If your problem doesn't go away in another, say, 3 weeks, on its own, then you can try 2 doses of a PPI a day, which is standard treatment for LPR.

You could try it now, but I'm wondering if it's too early at just 3 weeks.
