10 days ago I started with a feeling of fullness in the ear, my ears also occasionally rang and felt quite clogged and the best way to describe is that I felt underwater. So i went to the doctor and booked me in for a syringe, had that done and it cleared some of the wax, but my ear still felt full and I felt underwater. So i went back to the doctor and he said my eardrum was slightly imnflamed and gave me some ear drops. I am now into day 4 of the ear drops and it has got slightly better, don't know if this is down to the fact I am getting use to it!!
So in the last couple of days the same symptons have persisted but now my ears begin to pop for a split second and then go back to the fullness and underwater!
What do I do? Go to the doctor tomorrow, or is there any simple home treatment?
Thanks, please help!!

Have you tried taking an allergy med, such as Zyrtec (prescription)? If not, it may help.
The ear drops will help equalize the pressure in the ear. Sometimes the air bubbles get out of suspension and takes time for them to go back normal.
Have you tried chewing gum to help ears to open up. When flying in airplane, this works well.
More than likely your ear problem is due to allergy.

So having these symptons for 10 or odd days is no problem and I shouldn't be overly concerned?

i got bad allergies
my eyes runny/gooey/crusty

i had a cough and even a FEVER for a day
all kind of garbage in my ears and after cleaning the right one
i couldnt hear right out of it
i read in a chuck palahniuk book about setting newspaper in the ear on fire and i tried it and burnt some hair and couldnt put the fire out and had to water hose the room and clean it all over again
this time i am going to try zyrtec and chewing gum
if that doesnt work, syringe?

Hello, I have suffered from "sleeping ears for what seems like forever now and my DR. says he has never haerd about my pain. This only happens when I sleep and I am wondering if I have what you have. The pain is really intense and wakes me while I sleep and I ONLY sleep on my sides so this is a huge problem, I get very little sleep and the pain worsens when I lift my haed off the pillow to try to get rid of the pain. arg what a mess. I fthie sounds like what you experience could you let me know so that maybe I will hav a clue who to go to for help. Thanks

Do you know where I could get this Zyrtec from since it's not available in chemists? I've been suffering with the same problem for 2 years now.

I've got the same problem as well, had it for about 3 years and no doctor seems to know what's wrong with me. Have you had any luck with your treatment?
