I have newly diagnosed Inflammitory Bowel Disease (IBD) - in microscopic amounts. It is only seen in biopsies, not colonoscopys or cat scans. I am on prednisone, however it is not working. My Gastro told me to go off milk products to see if their was a secondary problem. I now have not had a BM in 3 days, quite a difference from 10X/day. Do you think this is from lack of milk? I am eating regular meals and drinking tons of water but am getting kind of worried. I have been told not to go near metimucil and similar products due to the IBD. Any Suggestions?

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your predicament.

Try putting the milk back in your diet to see what happens. Is it full cream milk? Could be the lack of fat in your diet that is not helping your bowels, as milk contains fat too.

Try it and see.
