I'v been taking prevacid for about a year now, I dont have heartburn ever, I just belch everyday. I dont have to eat anything, or if I do eat the smallest thing I belch. Their not like huge lound belchs, just little ones. What could be causing the belching everyday?

a possible cause is the habit of swallowing air when you eat

Belching was one of the primary symptoms I had for my GERD. Prevacid 2x per day has helped. It has also REALLY helped watching my diet not eating spicy foods, tomato products, citrus, coffee, tea, chocolate, high fat foods, etc.... For the belching I found that avoiding ALL carbonated drinks was a must. You also need to make sure your pants are loose enough they aren't pressing on your stomach. I also had a lot of problems every time I bent over. I try to avoid any activities that would scrunch my stomach. I had the worst time one weekend laying a brick patio--I belched every time I put a brick down.

Hope this helps.

Hah! See my posts about this from the last several weeks!

I hiccup as well as burp, if that's the proper term for it. They go together almost always. Although, there are times I don't hiccup when burping. But hiccups are always accompanied by some burps (usually started by the burp).

Maybe your "small" burps are like mine - unnoticeable to the public? (Which my hiccups are slow and few, too, and unnoticeable.) I simply feel as if my esophagus is spasming from the stomach to the throat. I don't feel as if the stomach is letting out anything, and I don't generally feel any need to open my mouth for this. It's just something rolling from my gut to my throat. As if it was intestinal contractions/noises up high, you know what I mean?

I have been getting this same exact feeling lately. It makes me nervous. What causes it?
