View Full Version : I am worried....

that my son is not developing on track.

He will be 7 months old on the 18th of this month but is a little over 6 months old adjusted age.

He is rolling around great and when he is on his belly, he can lift his front half way up, but does nothing but wiggle his lower half. He can not sit up on his own at all and stiffens up when I try to get him to and falls over. He can not stand supported .....he will not even try. He just pulls his legs up and refuses to put pressure on them. I do not know if he just can't or won't. I had a c-section after 24 hours of labor and my water being broken. His heartrate was dropping with each contraction and he had major bruising on his head from the vacuum. No tests were done at birth but the hospital is incompetent. He has also been extremely colicky. SCREAMS A LOT. He is just now getting better. Should I be worried or is he still too young to worry about that.

He can move his legs and will curl his toes around my hand, but will barely push on my hands with his feet.

I bet your boy is beautiful and perfect the way he is. But i do think that he may be having difficulties with his lower half. At his age he should show interest in getting onto his feet, even if he is not yet fully capable. Another eye opener is his not wanting to push against your hands but wanting to curl his toes around them. I am no doctor, but it sounds to me that he is already attempting alternative movement for his lower extremities. I think you should have him observed by a specialist. This way any difficulties can be corrected earlier as opposed to later.
