Is anyone taking Prevacid for acid reflux or hyper-acidity? I started taking it 6 days ago and I don't think it is making a difference. I don't feel nausea so much as I did before but my stomach still feels burny at times and throat sore. Do you think it isn't working or do you think 6 days it too soon to tell? Can anyone tell me how it worked for them? Thanks

I took prevacid for an ulcer for about a month and a half and it took about a week to start working. Give it time and check with your doc if not.

I am taking Prevacid right now. I've been on it for almost 2 weeks, and I feel much better. I've even been able to eat pineapple, with no burning. I took it for several weeks a year or so ago, with similar results.
I check with my doctor in a couple of days, to see if I should continue taking it. I take the Prevacid for GERD, and I also take 1 tablespoon Citrucel daily, for IBS. My digestive tract seems to be much happier with the Prevacid and Citrucel. -InternetMary

Yes I take preveced, it takes a few days to get a hold of ya but then the symptoms do go away, I usually take it for a few days til the symptoms are gone and then I'm good for a few weeks when I slip up on my diet or something. I've tried enzymes, prilosec, aciphex and nothing worked as good as the preveced and that isn't 100% the way I'd like it. I hadn't realised all the stomach problems for the last 30 yrs were in realty acid reflux, I didn't start getting heartburn til about 3 yrs ago and only a few times a year. I found out you have to be consistant in taking it and I wasn't.
