Hi Everyone, I recently wrote on the relationship board about my problems with my boyfreind, some of the responses were that he may be Borderline Personality Dissorder, or Narcisstic ?

I didnt think so at the time, but I have been heavily researching, I will give you an idea of what hes like, maybe someone could point me in a direction

We have been together about six years, and have broken up many times...this recent time I promised him , and myself that I would be as good to him as possible...and I have been, always happy to see him, make a real effort to look good for him, all the sex he wants...etc.
Well he starts blowing at me again, and now I am realizing that the problem isnt me, but him, before I wasnt too sure because I would get sucked into the fights , and it would get so confussing, ya never really new who started it.

Any way when we got back together he proposed to me, I said yes, about three weeks later he says he has cold feet, says hes feeling to much pressure, I say fine....a few days later he wants to get married again, I say ok, then a week later he says he doesnt want to marry me because hes afraid I wont let him watch hockey ???? I have never complained about hockey ????

So any way I dont wear the engagemnet ring, and honestly I am not too worried about whether we marry or not (I am becoming cautious)
The pattern continues, he freiks at me for no reason, recently our daughters (his and mine) got into trouble, he got sooo mad at me, on his way home, some young guys were fooling around in there truck, he pulls up beside them, reaches over and smacks the driver in the head !!!!!

The other day, he breaks up with me, then calls me says Im the love of his life, then breacks up with me again. Tonite we had a dinner date with another couple at the bar, I went with them...he did not, he called me three times while we were there, calling me a bi#ch, he wants to go to the bar , but wants me to get out, on my way home he calls again, says Im the love of his life....but gets mad again and hangs up ?????

He can get mad at the drop of a hat, if I bring up that he has a problem he gets doubely mad......but he has said thing that makes me believe that deep down he knows he has a problem.

He is also on Paxil, and he drinks at least six beers a day, but doesnt ever really get drunk. He is 45, and I am 40.

I am thinking it is possible that he has BPD, but could it be something else, he never really ever laughs, I think Ive heard a real laugh from him about three times max in the last 6 years. I do love him, but is this relationship doomed, shall I just slip a valium in his coffee every morning ?, lol.

A doctor must have diagnosed him when the prescription was issued, paxil is mainly used for depression.

take care

Anyone who drinks 6 beers a day and doesn't get drunk either
a) has a drinking problem
or
b) is alcoholic

Bet he can't go withOUT those beers either, right?

You might want to check out alanon... I've been there myself.

Twice a year he does a twelve day cleanse, and doesnt drink any alchohol at these times, so its not that he CANT stop......

Yes the doc gave him Paxil, I honestly think that when he started taking this is when he became more aggresive, I told him to quit drinking (which of course he wont ) ...or quit the Paxil, as I think the two together dont do so well.
