I am new to this site and just needed to vent. I am 33 years old and have been TTC for over 1 year. I have endo and my right tube is blocked. AF just arrived yesterday and I will only be able to try AI one more time with my current physician and then he wants me to see a specialist. Does anyone have the same issues I have? I am just feeling really emotional and DH just does not seem to understand. Is there any hope? I just can't seem to get it off my mind. As much as I try to not get my hopes up, I am always devistated when AF arrives. Thanks for letting me vent, I already feel better.

I am also new to all of this. I had 2 fibroids taken off my uterus last July. We have had 2 unsuccesful attempts at IUI since then. My Dh has a low sperm count with low mobility. Believe me I know how you feel ( I think we all do) but it does get easier every day. Getting on here a posting a message helps and there are days where all I did was cry. Good luck to you

Venting and processing what you're going through is very important. I also kept a journal at the time I was struggling. Now, I get stressed and emotional here and there about obstacles or when AF shows up, but otherwise I've learned to cope after 10 years of this.
Hang in there!

Thank you for your thoughts. It does help to come on and read what other people are going thru, but it seems like if I have one good day, the next day is 10 times worse. My dr. office just scheduled my 2nd and last AF through his office, since I have been on Clomid 6 mos. he won't do it after that and wants to refer me to another specialist. I asked why he wasn't having me take ovulation tests or keep track of my basal temp and the nurse said that his answer was because that would cost more money. Hello...do I care, I am trying to have a baby here. I am so mad, I could scream. I have decided to do the ovulation test on my own and if it doesn't show I am ovulating around the time he wants to do the AF, I don't think I should do it, after all I am paying for it. What are your thoughts?

VicFras - if you aren't using OPK's or BBT's, how does your doctor know when you are ovulating in order to do the AI? That sounds a little odd to me. When I was on Clomid, I was monitored with ultrasounds and took OPK's to know when I was ovulating, then was given an HCG shot to ensure ovulation. The OPK tests are like $12 for 7 of them - and if you don't know when you are ovulating, how can he know when to do the insemination??
I, personally think I would move on to a specialist right away - why spend more money on an IUI with a doctor who doesn't know or care when you are ovulating? I don't mean to sound harsh - and I know that I don't know the whole story, but by what you have said in your last post - it would concern me a bit. Maybe others have differnent thoughts or can shed some light on why you would be doing IUI without OPK's or BBT's...
I wish you the best of luck - whatever you decide to do. Welcome to the boards!

VicFras, I agree with Ravemarie. I am just in the beginning of my struggles and already I've had a sonogram and I am told to keep track with BBT and OPK's... not to mention they've done blood work on me 3 times now. I'm not even having an IUI, this is me just on Clomid and Metformin. But my thought is, if my RE has me doing all of this without plans for IUI, then certainly your doc should be paying more attn. :nono:
I wish you the very best of luck and hope you choose to seek the assistance of a specialist. IUI's can be expensive to just do it without even knowing that you are ovulating.

I asked those questions also and all they had to say was that the doctor counts 14 days after I start. Which I told the nurse was not always the case. I did cancel my insemination for today and already have an appt on July 5th to see a specialist. I also ask the doctor about ultrasounds to detect ovulation and they said they did not have that equipment. Which would have been nice to know all of this when I started. Cause can you go on Clomid again? I heard if it doesn't take the first six months, it probably won't take. Anyway, going to just relax until my next appt. Was actually nice to be with my husband and enjoy lovemaking without the pressure of dates or times. Thank you for all your advice.

Vicfras It Is Good That U Are Going To See A Specialist, I Also Felt My Ob Did Not Know That Much About Infertility.. Some Probably Know A Lil Mpre About Others, But It Is Def Not Their Specialty, And From Seeing An Re I Realized (which I Was Never Told By Ob) That Even If Ur Periods Are Regular, U Need U/s To See When Everything Is Going On, If U Are Actually Ovulating, The Size Of Ur Follicles, Pcos Etc... Good Luck When U See The Re, Im Sure They Will Be Much More Agressive About Trying To Find A Cause To Your Infertility, Instead Of Just Doing Ai Without Any Other Stuff!!!

Hi VicFrac - I also think it would be in your best interest to seek out another specialist right away. I don't know much about IUI's, but if he is not monitoring your cycle because it costs more money, then he isn't doing his job 100% :nono: . It's your body and your life, and you deserve a dr that understands how important this is to you. Good luck!
