i am going to the UK in july with hubby and four kids for 4 weeks. getting to gym will be near impossible so wondered what to do
should i buy dumbells or something over there and if so, is there a good website that gives DB exercises for all body parts...i know bi/tri/should etc but need more variety
or should i take something with me like a resistance band or is something else better altogether??
and i guess walking will be my only fitness (cant run due to osteoporosis)
just dont want to go backwards!!!

i think you will be doing a ton of walking, as long as you make a point of doing that, i think you should be fine.

Resistance bands take up almost no room and will hold you over till you're back at a gym. Also, pushups and pullups are seriously underrated. Definitely good to use in the absence of equipment. I don't know of any sites that have examples of band exercises, but if you search for EXRX, there are hundreds of exercise examples and you just have to be creative with the bands to mimmick the movement and hit the right muscles.

I once saw an ad for dumbbells that you filled with water, so you could pack them with you when you travel and fill them when you're ready to use them. I don't know how good they are, just an ad I saw once. Might wanna do a search for them

Resistance bands are awesome. They are super cheap and take up little to no room. If you're creative, you can do a lot with them...

Hi Presson

Believe it or not we do have gyms over here! :) I'm a member of Fitness First (www.fitnessfirst.co.uk) who have gyms all over the place.

Why not email them and see if they'll sell you a month's pass? Got to be worth a try.

Roger
