If you can see my previous posts, I'm starting to question my doctor and my blood pressure. Whenever I read, tv, or whatever my eyes feel like they're becoming cross eyed. Also, before I used to get eye pains when watching TV now it just happens randomly. I get real dizzy now too from reading. So how much? Please help I'm only 17 and I gotta limit my money. I gotta pay for it myself cause my parents think I'm over reacting.

A privite practice Optometrist would provide you with a Complete Eye Examination. This would include an evalution of focuing and muscle alienment of your two eyes.( binocular testing ). Your symptoms of your eyes becoming crossed may be detected with these test. Explain to the Optometist that you do not have a lot of money at the age of 17. You may want to call the office and ask to talk to the Optometrist before you have the appointment. Privite Optometrists are always willing to provide "Services" when there is a need. They can be found in your Yellow Pages. They are Members of the AOA - American Optometric Association. :)

thanks! My doctor will probablly refer me to one if he can't figure it out. So there can be a chance my optomatrist (sp?) missed something and the opthamologist can find it?

EyesTwo suggested you go to an optometrist, not an ophthalmologist. I can't tell you the cost because I live in Canada. Because of the eye muscle thing, a pediatric ophth would be the person to see, not because you're only 17, but because POs are experts at eye muscle problems and they do take adult patients with strabismus. The optometrist you saw could have missed something if your eyes were behaving that day and moving together properly (I suppose). On the other hand, your problem could have a large psychological factor as well. I guess you can't be sure until you see a specialist.
