View Full Version : Seeing Lines

I often see lines in my eyes when I look from side to side. The lines are transparent and sort of look like microorganisms in a microscope. If I focus on something they fade away. I mostly only see them in well lit areas, like when driving during the day. I've noticed this for years, but didn't think anything of it. In fact, I thought everyone saw lines like this. I saw an optometrist a couple of months ago and he didn't mention anything, though I didn't either. I wasn't worried about it at the time. Since then, however, it seems to be getting worse. Does anyone know what it is?

do you know what floaters are? For me, I see lines that are clear and some circles that follow my eyes. It's perfectly normal, but since you say side to side it's confusing. Most likely your opt. didn't mention it because it's not a big concern. You should be worried if you see flashing though. Maybe you should tell him.

Those sound like floaters to me. I have them too. They are very noticeable for me when I'm looking at the clear sky or a computer screen.
