When My doc said that the prerequisistes for tonsillectomy and something like, 3 infections a year...what does he mean by infections? recently I got a fever with a cold, but how do I know it is a result of my tonsils? He said it wasn't bad at all, and recommended a steroid to take away the swelling, but it didnt' work. My left tonsil is way bigger than the other..not sure if I want to live with it or not, he did say that it should go back down to normal size, and it wasn't a reason to have the operation just yet. Well, a few weeks later I got sick, but I have never been sick from this before. Granted, I am a school teacher and ever since I started teaching I have gotten at least 7 colds a year, but never with fever untill this year that I caught the flu and today that currently i caught it again. How do I know if it is a direct result from my tonsils? THe ENT said my tonsils were not infected, nor did he notice any infection...what do you guys think? thanks for input - Iggy
