I have filamentary keratitis and now blepharitis. Anyone else have experience with this? Is it serious? I have the kind that is like dandruff on the eyelashes, do not see any redness on the lids but the doc says it is caused by a staff infection. I also have chronci dry eye. Is dry eye related to this? I did some research on it and hope it goes away. Will ask my doc more questions on my next visit thanks!

I am surprised no one has any comment here about this condition, my doc says it is very common...

I went for an eye exam 2 years ago and at that time my doctor told me I had blepharitis but did not have to treat it. I changed eye doctors about six months later and this doctor prescribed a antibiotic ointment to use on my eyelids at bedtime. I used it for a month and the condition seemed to improve. I have noticed that it is worse in the cold weather and better in the Summer. I have the kind that gives you red eyelids and can be irratating and itchy. All I do is take a hot cloth and rub it on my eyes after I shower in the morning and that makes my eyes feel better. I also have a mild case of rocasea on my face so that may be why I have the bleparitis..

I've had blepharitis and know many people who've had it. In my case my eyes were incredibly itchy and the eye drops given were completely effective. The redness was not on the lids but rather right on the margin, where the eyelashes grow out of.
Now years later, I'm having some problems with my eyes becoming severely dry and itchy -- no redness. I went to the eye doctor and was advised to simply use eye lubrication. I'm not sure what's causing these symptoms but was hoping it was blepharitis because it was so easily treated!

I have suffered from blepharitis and its repercussions for over three years now. I still apply hot towels to my eyes and clean my eyelids with baby shampoo and Q-tips every night before I go to bed. The condition has approved, but the symptoms have not disappeared.
Interestingly, the dry eye symptoms and discomfort have affected my right eye only. Liquid tears help, but once my eye is really irritated, nothing seems to relieve the irritation.

has anyone ever used Eckerd eyelid scrubs? they are great, gentle, no alcohol, keep eyelids clear. eckerd is now owned by rite aid and has discontinued all eckerd brands. ocuvite scrubs have alcohol in them. I loved the Eckered ones, anyone know of something similar?
