Well I made it. The Doctor sprayed my throat and I began to panic some so he gave me enough medication to put me out. I got through it ok. I am really still wiped out from the meds. I was pretty sedated when the doctor told me that he found a lot of poplys and now I am sick with worry with that. The nurse said that they are common in people. Now I have to wait until tues or wed for the results of the biopsey.
Has anyone else had or has this?

I'm glad they put you out, that's my concern about mine on Monday. Can you please tell him how they get in to spray your throat? I'm totally scared about this part. Maybe I should ask to be put out from the very beginning. I hope the polyps aren't anything serious. Get some rest tonight. I wish I had mine on a Friday but I'm stuck with early Monday morning.

The spray is in a can with a long end to it. It does not have to go down your throat. Nothing gets near there other than the spray that comes outof it.

I remember the spray when I had my endoscopy, the medical assistant sprayed what seemed like forever into the back of my throat and then told me to swallow.
As soon as I swallowed I could feel it numbing my esophagus as it went down. Kind of a weird feeling but it wasn't bad.
Also she told me before she sprayed it that it was banana flavored and wouldn't taste bad. YEAH RIGHT! It tasted like Anbesol or one of those toothache numbing meds. Very gross! That is the worst part though is the taste.
I am the biggest hypochondriac I know of and if I can do it anyone can!

Hi Tlily, I am glad that everything went okay witht the procedure. My friend had polyps in the colon area. She had them removed and is fine now. She just needs to see her GI regularly, so that he can check that everything is fine. Don't worry, I also heard that they are very common and as long as you have them removed and you see your GI regularly you should be fine.

Eve
They found many of them very small in the stomach area. As with everything they are going to biopsy. Should know by Wed. Dr said that this is found in many people and not to worry....but I WORRY. Thanks I do feel better knowing that you have heard the same thing. How are you feeling? My symptoms are getting a little better but have not been eating much.

Tlily,
I know it is hard not to worry. I worry about every little symptom. Currently, I am having a horrible toothache on a tooth that has had two root canals. So I have had some distraction from my GERD symptoms. I have been suffering all weekend. My tooth actually started to hurt the day of my endoscopy, but I was too nervous to think about it and now its unbearable.
I have not heard from the doctor regarding my results, I am hoping that everything is okay. I called his office and they said it usually takes two weeks to get my results, I thought that was too long. I hope all goes well with your biopsies. Please let me know how everything goes. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Eve
