Doc put my on 15mg wellbutrin a day, I guess for Depression/Anxiety But is this used for OCD or should I look into something else? I really think the OCD is the cause of my Anxiety which in turn causes depresssion.

Any Idea?

Hey

Wellbutrin is a dopamine and serotonin inhibitor, meaning that it would be effective in treating OCD, although I dont know how much benefit it will be, giving that meds work differently depending on the individual. I have heard of Wellbutrin being used a lot for depression and drug withdrawals. Give it a try (might take a few months for full effect) and if you find it of help then great. If not though, dont hesitate to look into other possible meds. Its very much a case of trial and error to find the best med for you when it comes to OCD.

Its pretty common for OCD to trigger bad anxiety and depression. Thats very much the story with me.

I tried wellbutrin about 3 months ago to help the sexual side effects of SSRI and it greatly increased my OCD and I had to quit after a week or so.
I felt a big increase in anxiety and was too hyper to stay on it.

Hi
I'm on Wellbuterin for my anxiety/depression (since April of this year). I quit smoking while on it. I also stopped my OCD, but started up again recently...just a bit.
But see if it works for you. I wish you luck.
