My friend had her lung collapse at 4 months preg, probaly due to smoking. Now she discovered she has acid reflux. She has spent Thousands of $ on tests for her heart and everything is normal. Every time she calls me it is health related and I am just about sick of it. Her anxiety problem is killing me! How do u deal w/a friend like that?

Well a lot of us are like that ourselves, not something your friend can help if she is a hypochondriac. The best thing you could do is just be her friend and try to understand how she feels. You may be able to see she is fine and has nothing wrong, but it is hard to believe for some of us.

Hey mama,

I am not sure, but I work with one. I simply listen to her and offer her the one thing she is looking for ....attention and sympathy. Generaly..and odly..that stops her for a bit. SHe is just lonely, and wants for someone to hear her and believe that she doesnt feel right.
I also know it is dangerous to assume that nothing is wrong....Of course ther are many people that behave this way as I said for attention. Then there are many that are truly not feeling right and have yet to be diagnosed. Believe me I know how tiring it is....I want so badly to roll my eyes and say "Get over yourself" but that wouldnt help either. Just listen and let her know that you are there for her.
