I don't what is going on for the past 3 or 4 years I have had tingling sensations throughout various parts of my body. This has been going on for 3 or 4 years I am now 27. Last year I went to the doc complained about it they thought it was stress which it probably was. Later a couple months I got the shingles June 2005. I had the shingles on my back after they healed I still felt some burning sensation around that area but it eventually was bareable and not to bad. Then in May all the other areas where I just had tingling sensations seem to be getting worse now I was feeling burning sensations in my feet and other areas and tingling was much more. Now its june again and I have the shingles again for the 2nd time and the same exact place on the back. The rash has not formed and I went to the doc immediately they gave me valtrex and a shot of kenalog. I am suppose to have an MRI on my brain and spine on the 18 not to mention The shingles I got in June of last year has cause me acid reflux problems so i am having and endoscopy.

What do I have what is wrong with me? am I diabetic do I have ms or is this something else? Any ideas any advice anything at all?

Hi,
Do you have Type I or Type II diabetes? There is a link between Type I diabetes and MS. However, some of your symptoms might also be explained by neuropthy, including the gastrointestinal problems.

I think it a very good idea that you're having an MRI.

I have never heard about the link between Type I diabetes and MS. I am diabetic. I have noticed that just before and during an episode that my blood sugar goes up. I have to increase my oral meds. When the episodes as I like to call them subside my blood sugar goes back to normal range and I have to go back to my original dose of oral meds. If you know when I can find any info on this please let me know. Thank you

simply do an internet search on MS and Type I diabetes and you will find a lot of information. There seems to be a strong link between the two diseases. it is studied in a number of ways. there is a lot of information regarding the diseases and consumption of cow's milk.

I know this sounds terrible in a way, what i'm thrilled to know someone else that has both!!

NO NO NO I am not a diabetic! "What do I have what is wrong with me? am I diabetic do I have ms or is this something else? Any ideas any advice anything at all?"

I am not sure what is wrong with me! All I can say is I have tingling sensations for 3 or 4 years then I got the shingles last june 2005 now its june 2006 and I got the shingles again for the 2nd time exact same month. I just had blood work done my lab work was all fine.

I just had an MRI done on my brain/spine waiting for the results.

i am not a diabetic as far as my lab work shows.

I am trying to see if I have all the symptoms of MS??? what do you think? I guess i need to wait to see my mri but this pain is bothering me alot and im only 27 and it seems to be getting worse.

I'm sorry! I misread your original posting. These symptoms definitely could be ms-related. It's good that you've had an MRI scan. If the scan doesn't show anything, keep pursuing tests and treatment. I clean scan doesn't rule out MS.

I hope you start to feel better soon.

Is there a link between shingles and MS. I dont know what is wrong with me and the doctor I went to said "are you sure this is not anxiety related" what kind of stupid question is this. My hands hurt my shingles came back for 2nd time the rash did not show but i know it there and back. They should see that I am not freaking making this up. I don't have time to make stuff this my body im 27 years old. It is so frustrating. I am going to a neurologist on the 27. I am aslo having an upper endscopy because I have an acidic taste in myt mouth for now a year and it is due to all those meds I took last year with my shingles. Perscribing zoloft is not the answer! I don't know why doctors think that solves the problem because those anitdepressants are the worse things to ever take. It will take your life away so fast.

Well, I disagree completely with you about anti-depressants however I agree with you that I would look further into this than simply dismissing these problems as anxiety.
