Is that OCD? The thoughts usually don't stop ever unless I distract myself with some really fun music or watching TV or resting.

It depends on whether you are worrying about irrational problems and fears, or worrying about geniune problems which need to be solved!

They are usually problems that are real and then there are real problems that are out of my power to solve. I feel like my thoughts are a broken record and it just repeats either bad experience from years ago over and over and over again.

you know my thoughts really wax and wane alot, but doing something distracting like TV helps me.. which is funny as i used to never like to watch tv :)) but still have to be weary of what i watch as it might bring on symptoms

I think it is ocd, depression and anxiety. It sounds like you need to call your doctor and get your mediation adjusted. I had the same thing for months. It was HORRIBLE. Now it basically lifted completely. I take 6 meds though and go to therapy every other week.

Ratarose: I feel that comedies and scary movies distract me the best from my own redundant thoughts. Also I listen to self help books all the time now which I find to be even better than going to a counselor. And I am not on medicine. I've not even be diagnosed. I only think it is ocd or something.

Oh I agree about Video Games that really does help. I usually boil me up a great cup of decaff coffee and sit down and play some cheerful computer games and get way involved in it. I think fantasy games are the best.
The self help audio books I hear is Self Matters by Dr. P (that one is the best). Also I have some self affirmations CDs and one by Lyanla.
And why does scary movies bother you? I know other people who cannot watch scary movies at all and will leave the room.

well i used to not have too hard a time watching them, but since my ocd started, its hard to want to watch about violence since i tend to have those type of morbid thoughts and whatnot, so i figure the less i watch about that stuff the less i might think about it? or maybe it would be the opposite that i should make myself deal with them more? hmm, video games huh, i should try that one, :) thanx yall

I use to be sensitive to some horror or scary movies and till this day Zombie movies are still way too gruesome for me to watch but I will watch a good intriguing scary movie every now and then and it helps to get my mind off of those annoying social problems that I keep thinking about non stop. I keep thinking what did I say that went wrong, what should I do, what was that person really thinking, how did I come across, why do I get a feeling that others dislike me, why did so and so say this, that was insulting! - that is the type of OCD I have.
