I'm slightly nearsighted with slight astigmatism and wear glasses. Lately I've been noticing a bunches of dark specs in the background of my vision. They go away and in bright rooms I see none. I sometimes have headaches and my eyes feel dry. I can hardly watch tv without my eyes feeling tired and enjoying the computer is nearly impossible. Sometimes it seems like closing my eyes will only bring relief. Even the white walls on my room give me massive anxiety because I see dark specs everywhere on them. I've never had this problem to this degree before.

My focus is mostly sharp except when my eyes are obviously dry. I've been looked at in emergency because my family has a strong history of gluacoma on two occasions in the past 2 months. The first time the Doc checked my pressure and looked at my eyes through a device which you put your chin on. He said my eyes looked a bit dry but everything looked ok. The second time the doc put some dye in my eyes and looked at it with a purple light. They tested for Diabetes and did a urine sample. She said it looked ok except for some dryness. She basically said used some natural tears and lacrilube at night. Has anyone else had there kinds of problems "the darkgrainy floaters" in particular because of dry eyes? At times I half convince myself I'm going blind so any input on the matter would be appreciated.

I have some dark ones. Also lately I been seeing black 'flashes' and my eye doc said everything is all good. My doc said it could be high blood pressure.

Mannixguy,

If it were me, I would have my opth do a full pupil dilation and carefully examine the retina for any holes or tears. This can manifest in many new little black specks that weren't there before. I am extremely nearsighted and
this happened to me a few years ago. A retinal tear is extremely serious because it can turn into a detachment, which is more difficult to fix. Fortunately the tear was small and easily fixed with 75 hits of a lazer that spot welded the retina back into place. Very little pain and no loss of vision.

I don't mean to alarm, but better to err on the side of caution. I almost blew off these little black specks, but so glad I didn't !!
