Good morning! :)
I work from home on the computer and usually spend 8-12 hours/day on the computer (for the last few years). Recently I've started waking up with baggy, red eyes with sensitivity to light and dryness. I'm sure it's because of my excessive computer use. My overall vision is pretty good, but not 20-20.
So my question is, do they make glasses for folks like me to reduce the strain on eyes from computer use?
I've heard that it's healthy to turn from the computer every hour or so, but it's difficult for me to remember to do that.

I also work 8 hours a day on the computer. Earlier this year I went and got my eyes check and found out that I was nearsighted. But since I got my glasses my eyes have been getting very tired by the end of the day. They never before. I do make it a point to look awasy from the computer but it does not help me. I was thinking that it might be the glare from the floresant lights that is causing me to strain more. Any ideas would be so good because it is causing me alot of problems at work.

Yeah, I think I'm becoming nearsighted, too. I luckily use a nice flat panel monitor -- I had to ditch the CRT because I could literally feel the radiation going through my head after 8 hours. ;)
I am still wondering if there is anything else that could help me?

I want to know too, lately my eyes feel messed up. Could be from sinuses or high blood pressure, docs don't know yet. It feels like they get strained within 2 minutes, what the hell?! Hope we get answers man.

Yes, you could galsses. Go to an eye doctor and tell them that you're having issues with eye strain when you use a computer. You could also try a pair of OTC reading glasses with a low + power.
Also, to Annette, you're nearsighted (myopic) which means that your eyes have too much power which means seeing thing up close is easier because your eyes don't work as hard to focus. When you wear glasses to correct the myopia, the new glasses/eyeball system has the correct amount of power. But it also means you'll have to work harder than you used to to focus on things like the computer. If you can see the computer clearly without the glasses, I'd just take them off and use your myopia to your advantage.

Thanks I was thinking about doing that. I don't need them for reading or any thing close up. I have no problem with that. But I only start wear glasses the first time m=in my life in March of this year. The reason I use them all the time I have very bad astigmatism and I don't know if there is any thing in the lense to help with that. My astigmatism is so bad that I got a refferal to see an eye surgent about it. I also though that it might take a long time for my eyes to adjust to the new glasses.
